CLIMATE ACTION COMMITMENT
TRC recognizes climate change and its adverse effects as one of the most significant challenges of our time.
Pursuing our vision of making the Earth a better place to live, TRC is committed to:
• Working with our clients to tackle climate challenges related to mitigation, adaptation and resiliency;
• Measuring, reporting, and reducing the carbon footprint of our own operations and focusing on increased employee awareness; and
• Engaging our communities to raise awareness and advance education on the topic of climate change and other global megatrends.
We formalized our climate action commitment in FY15 and advanced our commitment through the following key actions during the reporting period:
> > Set a new 2020 target in FY16 to grow our clean energy services year-over-year, including renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy storage technologies;
> > Joined Association of Climate Change Officers( ACCO);
> > Signed a contract with CDP( formerly Climate Disclosure Project) in 2015 to be a preferred provider of energy efficiency and sustainability advisory services to support CDP’ s Action Exchange( AEX) Program.;
> > Advanced our target to reduce our office energy use by 20 percent;
> > Joined the Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030 alliance sponsored by the Department of Energy.;
> > Served as Track Chair and a presenter for a panel on climate change implications for California water policy at the National Association of Environmental Professionals annual meeting;
> > Held our first company-wide Earth Day initiative in April 2015, with 225 volunteers from 21 offices participating, with a common theme of climate change; and
> > Continued to engage with our clients and local communities on the topic of climate change.
