W e will solve the challenges of making the Earth a better place to live— community by community and project by project-- this is TRC’s Vision and our commitment to our clients, and employees. We are proud of our roots and long history of creating innovative solutions that help our clients simplify and resolve the complex issues impacting their operations. Everyone at TRC plays a role in fulfilling our Vision. It is through performance excellence; talent development and recruitment; and through our Mission of embracing our clients’ goals as our own, that we solve our clients’ challenges, drive profitable growth for TRC and achieve prosperity for all stakeholders. Our first sustainability report is the culmination of a yearlong effort to formalize our strategy and document the systems we have in place. We are proud of the progress we are making. We received a number of safety awards in fiscal 2014, including a Global Safety Recognition certificate from ExxonMobil for the fourth year in a row. We continue to make investments in programs that support our goal to provide our clients with the highest quality services. In 2014 we also established a baseline for our environmental footprint, including our office energy use, our fleet vehicle emissions, and our office recycling initiatives. Moving forward, we have established performance improvement targets for the next one to five years, covering areas material to our business. While improving the sustainability of our own operations is important, integrating sustainable solutions into the services we provide and the projects we deliver to clients is our unique opportunity to address pressing global issues in a more powerful way. Today, all sectors of our nation’s economy are feeling the impacts of an energy transformation. Businesses are being challenged to more efficiently manage energy and finite natural resources; EPA’s Clean Power Plan is impacting aging power plants, driving decommissioning and the development of renewable generation sources; natural gas and liquid pipelines are being permitted and built; and the nation’s transportation infrastructure continues to require upgrades and expansions. Responding to these challenges requires creativity, dedication and expertise. In fiscal 2014 we launched two initiatives focused on the Power and Utility market and the Oil and Gas market to help us better meet our clients’ needs. These teams, led by former national industry executives, implement high level strategies to support the delivery of comprehensive, sustainable solutions to clients. We have also made a number of strategic new hires and acquisitions in these markets and are well positioned to proactively address the challenges facing these industries. In fiscal year 2015, we will launch a similar focus for the transportation sector. At TRC, sustainability is a fundamental principle that drives our business. We are energized by these opportunities to make the Earth a better place and our commitment to this goal gives purpose to the work we do every day. We thank our employees, our clients and our other stakeholders for their support and welcome your feedback on this report. Christopher P.
