An unwritten book
Descartes has become a symbolic entity in my life through his proposed idea of “ I think therefore , I am .” Descartes believed that things can only be proven by doubting what we see and experience , till we can prove that it can not be doubted anymore . And the fact that he uses this idea to doubt the mind , made me reflect upon how we accommodate our thoughts as we grow up .
From the moment we open our eyes to the world we are overwhelmed by the different aspects of it and not all of them affect us or stay with us , we choose what we want and what we believe in . For example I have not had my baptism or communion , as my parents wanted me to decide what faith I choose , and as I experienced and encountered myself in different situations I decided not to follow any faith . This does not entitle me to believe that all aspects of christianity are absurd , because I do believe that their values and ethics are something we should all intend to have ; however I do not regard that the church is something credible or stable to put faith in . In this example , I intend to reflect how experiencing something one can take away aspects he believes are sources of credible formation while others might not be adequate to personal beliefs and therefore lack the possibility of being undoubted .
As human beings we all live in the same world , but grow out into different men and women . The world defines our physical limits , but the mind expands over the unreachable , allowing an infinite combination of thoughts that make the 8 billion humans distinct in each personal way . Like geometry , the ideas each possesses have a logic within that is funded by the same world knowledge but makes its own roots into an unwritten book of personal identity .
