The power of the mind as a reality builder
How can one be sure that what their mind tells them is real ? Creating ideas with our minds can be very powerful ; it can answer or bring up confusion to unanswerable questions . The mind as a reality builder can be confusing because it is all about perception ; one ' s mind can create a different reality from the person beside them . The power of the mind as a reality builder can be confusing ; it is hard to grasp the actual truth and understand what is true when relying on one ' s mind to tell one a reality . How we view our reality will determine in a colossal way our perspectives on many issues , our standpoint on the universe , and our understanding typically . One ' s viewpoint and thoughts depend a lot on their fixed point , where they are at , the experiences one has had and their mind , and what one may think their reality is , which makes it challenging to have the same opinion or answer for philosophical questions . Everyone is at a different point in their lives , meaning they will have a different approach and idea of how to answer specific questions of reality and how far we can rely on our minds to create our reality . How can one define an actual reality when nobody is at the same point in their lives ? Reality can vary depending on each individual ; every person will see a different reality and experience a different one depending on where they are .

The one eye of Monism
The monist ' s take on either idealism or materialism is looking at only half of reality . Similarly to having two eyes and covering one ; you won ' t be able to look at everything correctly , nor will you be able to perceive depth , motion , constancy or any other binocular cues . Like eyes , using both is what gives you a clear image and the ability to perceive the reality in which we live in . The principles of idealism and materialism are the same , both ideas are true and feed off each other , as they are contrasting and can be used when one isn ' t applicable . For example , when I say that a tree will make a sound if it falls on the desert , I am an idealist because there is no way I can know if that is true . However , I don ' t believe in the validity of idealism in all aspects because when I think " I want a coffee cup in my hand ," no coffee cup will appear . On that basis , a third road should be built as an explanation to breach the gap . This isn ' t a new concept but more of a theory that connects the already existing principles of idealism and materialism . This third isn ' t a third substance , it is more of an explanation towards how the principles connect . After all , would you truly be seeing the world with one eye covered ?
