THREE-WHEELED maverick
Can-Am has given its distinctive Ryker three-wheeler a substantial update for 2027, with changes to the chassis, powertrain, technology and styling aimed at making the unconventional machine more comfortable, stable and engaging to ride. Can-Am describes the 2027 model as the most significant evolution of the Ryker since its introduction in 2018.
At the heart of the update is a revised chassis designed to improve handling and stability. The Ryker retains its familiar two-front-wheel, single-rear-wheel layout, along with the automatic CVT transmission and shaft drive that have helped make it an approachable alternative to a conventional motorcycle. The platform continues to be aimed at riders looking for an easy-to-use recreational machine rather than a traditional two-wheeler.
Technology also gets a considerable boost, with the 2027 Ryker receiving a new 5-inch colour display and redesigned handlebar-mounted controls. The revised cockpit is intended to make the machine ' s functions easier to operate while giving the Ryker a more contemporary feel.
Visually, the changes are equally obvious. The front end has been redesigned with a more aggressive appearance and a distinctive quad-headlight arrangement, giving the Ryker a sharper look while retaining the exposed, minimalist character that has become a defining part of the model. The Ryker ' s appeal has always been its accessibility and ability to be configured around the rider. Its UFit system allows the riding position to be adjusted without tools, while the machine can be converted between solo and two-up configurations. Can-Am has also built a large accessory catalogue around the platform, allowing owners to customise everything from ergonomics and luggage to appearance and riding equipment. The new model continues Can-Am ' s strategy of positioning the Ryker as an alternative way into powersports. Rather than requiring the balance and gear-changing skills of a conventional motorcycle, the three-wheeler combines automatic transmission with a stability system and a low, open riding position. That formula has helped the Ryker attract riders who may not otherwise have considered getting onto two wheels.
The 2027 update therefore isn ' t a radical reinvention of the Ryker. Instead, Can-Am has taken the unusual formula that has been in production since 2018 and concentrated on refining the areas riders interact with most: handling, stability, controls, technology and styling. The result is a more sophisticated version of one of the more unconventional machines on the road. TRAVERSE
