should be taking this road. It was muddy, luckily not the sticky but the slushy type, and the road was pitted with small puddles. My front fairing started to come loose a few kilometres in, forcing me to stop and fix it. Why do these things seem to happen in the worst moments? A reminder to slow down, to check and manage one’ s expectations. Then and all of a sudden, the rain cleared, and I could feel the radiation of the sun heat up and vaporize the water on my raincoat. No wonder the vegetation of the rainforest is so lush in these conditions. If I were a plant, I’ d be sprouting too.
It was beautiful to see the change of scenery along the dirt road. The underground went from sandy to rocky to a forested road with giant trees around it. I deliberately took it slow, stopping at some villages and trying to get a feel for the life of the few people who live there.
