The asphalt ribbon had guided us past Taghit toward the oasis of Igli, a vision encircled by a lush palm grove, its golden dunes glowing like a mirage in the distance. As the road meandered through the dunes, the landscape embraced us in an ethereal magic, evoking the spirit of the Dakar Rally. These evocative scenes held the power to awaken adventurous souls, forging memories as timeless as the dunes themselves. Beni Abbes had been a place of legend, nestled gracefully along the Oued Saoura’ s banks, its palm grove nourished by the ancient foggara irrigation network.
