but a fragile thread that binds cultures, economies and communities across borders that have seen far too much suffering, and as Buddhi puts it,“ the people of both sides are welcoming and extremely protective of travellers, especially those that are foreign. Generally bad situations bring out the best in people and that is something extremely special to witness.”
As long as travellers continue to return— even slowly, even cautiously— the thread of exploring challenging regions will remain unbroken, providing an experience that is truly worth the effort, on both sides of a disputed line drawn up by foreign powers eighty years ago.
Travelling, riding, the disputed regions of India and Pakistan should be considered, with an eye on relevant information, speaking with local guides and authorities, gathering the information of other travellers, it can be a region of immense beauty, rich cultures, and epic roads … not least the people will welcome travellers with open arms.
