APPRECIATING WHAT ' S IN FRONT OF YOU

We can often forget what we have in front of us. The mundane to some, is new and exciting to others.

The plan for the day was to explore the trails of Wingello Forest south of Bowral. The area was originally settled around the 1830’ s and was on the route of the Main South Road linking Sydney to Goulburn.
Built by convict chain gangs, Wingello housed a convict stockade as well as a constable ' s hut and lockup. The railway station opened in 1871, and the village began to grow from there. Radiata pine plantations in the area were first established 1919 for the establishment of a commercial timber industry. It was now a popular destination for adventure bike riders, 4x4’ s, mountain bike riders and bush walkers.

Morning, flocks of white cockatoos flew across the highway, squawking and telling everyone it’ s going to be a sweltering day. Camden is a country town on the outer rim of metropolitan Sydney. With suburbia rapidly encroaching, the town still has a rural vibe.
A layer of fog shrouded the Nepean River and surrounding fields. Two hot air balloons silently drifted in the morning rays, overlooking the growing suburbs of Gregory Hills, Oran Park, and Cobbitty, as well as the flood plains of Cawdor. Having flown over the desert surrounding Alice Springs last century, the balloons can take you on a mystery tour of the surroundings. You never know where the wind currents will take you.
