TRAVERSE 81
Spain, solo Alaskan women on vintage Suzuki’ s, and couples two-up from Paraguay, all somehow ending up here, stories colliding and folding into one another.
Even the amenities feel designed with intentionality. There’ s high-speed Wi-Fi, not a given in the Yukon wilderness. Everything is wheelchair accessible too, including specially outfitted wall tents. It’ s thoughtful. Quietly revolutionary, in its own way.
But perhaps the greatest thing about Yukon Motorcycle Park isn’ t what’ s offered, it’ s what’ s not. No noise from highway traffic. No RV generators. No blaring TVs or inflatable pool toys. It’ s the rare kind of place where the sounds are those of nature and conversation; ravens overhead, the dull clang of tools in the distance, a soft laugh from someone remembering a near miss on a mountain pass.
And all around you; motorcycles. Dusty ones. Clean ones. Duct-taped tanks and brand-new Tenere 700s.
Bruce Martin has created a retreat specifically for the motorcyclist, with everything needed for the traveller
