A FRESH BREATH OF AIR BMW’ s 2026 GS Update
The GS lineup— already the backbone of BMW’ s adventure-bike legacy— has received a welcome refresh for 2026. It blends visual upgrades with thoughtful improvements, showcasing BMW Motorrad’ s commitment to rider-focused design without charging premium prices. Let’ s dive into what’ s new.
F 800 GS: Bold Blue, Better Shielding, and Tech Sweeteners
The perennial all-rounder receives a vibrant Gravity Blue Metallic colour, replacing the outgoing Racing Blue, that sets off its rugged profile beautifully. Beyond the cosmetic uplift, the F 800 GS now sports a heightadjustable windscreen as standard on Sport and Triple Black models, though the previously available tinted variant is discontinued for the Sport trim.
On the tech front, BMW introduces an electric-unlock navigation preparation system across the 2026 range, no key needed to mount a map-ready display. The rideready package also gets slightly leaner( premium package price drops), offering better value for riders who don’ t need every accessory.
Under the skin, the F 800 remains faithful to its proven twin-cylinder 895 cc motor( 87 hp / 91 Nm), 6.5 ″ TFT display, ABS Pro, DTC, and auxiliary sockets, perfectly balanced for ride-anywhere versatility.
F 900 GS & GS Adventure: Cleaned-Up Looks and Refined Packages
The F 900 GS continues largely unchanged mechanically, retaining its 105 hp twin-cylinder heart and rider tech. But BMW tidies up the appearance: the Passion Sao Paulo Yellow and GS Trophy liveries lose the front-fender tape detail for cleaner lines.
The F 900 GS Adventure gets a more substantial refresh, ditching the dull White Aluminium metallic for an earthy Sage Green Metallic finish across the Ride Pro trim. More significantly, the Ride Pro package is now modular: Dynamic ESA and centre stand are optional add-ons, and riders can now pair Ride Pro with lowered suspension, a great move for shorter riders seeking adjustable ergonomics. R 1300 GS: Sporty Reds and Premium Azure Elegance BMW’ s flagship adventure bike receives both bold and refined updates. First, the standard scheme switches to a richer Racing Red( non-metallic) in place of the bland Light White base. For those craving higher-end flair, the Option 719 lineup introduces Biscaya— a striking Imperial Blue Metallic bodywork trimmed with White Aluminium Metallic matte— replacing the prior Tramuntana shade.
On the features side, the Innovation Package now includes Adaptive Light Modes as standard— though riders who skip the package can really add it now. The R 1300 GS still packs a punch with its 1,300 cc boxer twin( 145 hp / 110 lb-ft), TFT display, Matrix LED lighting, heated grips, TPM, ABS Pro, DTC, Dynamic ESA, and engine-brake control.
All models go on sale from August 2025, with BMW’ s“ Ultimate Care Break-In Service” included as standard across the board.
The 2026 updates are far more than a mid-cycle tweak— they show BMW Motorrad thoughtfully adding riderfocused features, intuitive customisation, and unified aesthetic cues across its GS DNA. Whether you ' re an F 800 newcomer, an F 900 GS tower, or an R 1300 GS adventurer, these changes enhance the ownership experience, not just in value, but in expression, practicality, and personalisation.
