Continuing along the Fiumelato, we arrived in Modica, famous for its historic centre and its chocolate, an experience to be savoured slowly. As it melts in your mouth, you can taste its centuries-old history, tied to the cocoa trade route to Palermo and the Aragonese period. Its uniqueness lies in its artisanal production: the cold mixing of cocoa and sugar preserves the ingredients’ properties, giving the chocolate its distinctive graininess.
