TRAVERSE 176
of harm ’ s way , yet inside the park .
One of my favourite parks , not only because I ’ m a Californian , is Yosemite National Park . Every time I am there , I utter the same words – this never gets old . Due to the large numbers of visitors , this park is also a ticketed entry . Not knowing my exact dates when I set out , I bought tickets for the entire month of July to ensure I would be allowed entry ; Yosemite never disappoints , and this was my homecoming .
My last park visited was equally unique to many others , the closest to my home , and one I had , oddly , never been ; Channel Islands National Park . Only accessible by water , on a national park boat , it was a relaxing and peaceful way to end the adventure of a lifetime . Our boat departed in the morning for a full day at sea and around the islands to view the natural flora , fauna , and geography of these islands just a few miles off the coast of Southern California .
And it was a wrap as I rolled into my home in Southern California . Countless memories , beautiful landscapes , endless sunsets , the wonderful hospitality of strangers and friends whom I met along the way , and awe-inspiring nature . America the Beautiful ! All in under two months ' time : 54 days , 21 hours , and 11 minutes , visiting all 51 National Parks to be exact !
