booking tickets online without human contact . But after travelling through Central and South America for over a year , I knew that here one speaks to people and asks around for information . It is not uncommon that the official ticket seller should be a completely unofficial-looking person wandering up to potential customers .
There were several options to see combinations of the Uros and other islands : most commencing in the mornings . To our surprise there was also a boat leaving later this afternoon , to see just the Uros . Perfect . From what I understood with my limited Spanish , it didn ’ t matter which of the men we bought our ticket from - they ’ re all from the Uros and share the income anyway . He sold us both the boat ticket and the island pass , neither of which were checked later , so it seemed all sorted between the islanders , just as he ’ d suggested .
