Royal Enfield have created a next generation Himalayan that is much closer to hitting the mark of a serious adventure bike capable of hassle-free overland travel . There ’ s still plenty of room for improvement , some serious like the frame fractures , some minor . They have delivered a well thought through bike by listening to riders and engineers alike to deliver the 450 . Sale inclusive crash bars are a great addition and do work well to protect the bike when dropped , it could also be argued that they add to the aesthetic too , although we were disappointed to see that the rear rack still is a weak point and now includes a warning that it can only hold seven kilograms .
There are areas of the Himalayan 450 that feel , and are , cheap . Areas that will more than likely need replacing if this bike is to be a long-term investment , yet Royal Enfield have provided a bike that is more than capable and a bike that , like the previous incarnation , will provide the rider with plenty of opportunity for adventure and giggles , and if not it seems to be the next step to becoming Instagram famous .
