While most advisories state that Russia is unsafe to travel it needs to be taken with consideration of the size of the country . Yes , the border regions of Ukraine should not be travelled , it ’ s an active warzone however , that is almost ten thousand kilometres away from the eastern reaches of the nation . One could argue that London is closer to the conflict than Vladivostok .
