BUILDING ON A LEGACY
One of the most iconic names in motorcycling , Ténéré was born from the ultimate off-road challenge – the Paris Dakar Rally . For 2025 , a new generation of Ténéré 700 is set to build on the Ténéré legacy . It remains an exciting machine inspired by Yamaha ’ s rally successes but is now even more accessible to a wider range of motorcyclists . Alongside a new standard Ténéré 700 comes a lower seat height variant with shorter travel suspension to create a motorcycle which appeals to riders who don ’ t want the tallest riding position while , conversely , the new Ténéré 700 Rally offers a true pumped-up off-road style ride and higher specification for the more discerning off-road enthusiast .
The Ténéré 700 ’ s silhouette is iconic , with a tall front and a compact tail . Drawing on decades of rally expertise , it delivers an engaging ride across all terrains . Moreover , the front end offers excellent visibility and protection with its large windscreen , while the slim mid-to-rear section allows space for rider movement , especially when standing off-road . Additionally , the updated 16-liter fuel tank is now placed lower for better balance and handling , enhancing ergonomics while keeping the classic Ténéré look . Finally , the new rally-inspired one-piece seat is long , narrow , and promotes greater freedom of movement than the previous two-piece design .
The Ténéré 700 ’ s inverted front forks are now fully adjustable , while the rear suspension features a rallyinspired shock with a revised progressive linkage for a smooth ride on any surface . Designed for extreme terrain , the Ténéré 700 Rally builds on the adventure-ready Ténéré 700 , offering high-end KYB front forks with an extra 20mm stroke for 230mm front travel and 255mm ground clearance .
Giving you ultimate control when riding off road , TCS and ABS may be switched off . TCS has two settings , on and off , and can be deselected via the menu on the TFT dashboard , while a large button at the side of the dash can be used to control the ABS settings . ABS Mode 1 is the default and activates the anti-lock system on both wheels , while Mode 2 deactivates ABS only on the rear . Mode 3 turns off ABS intervention and hands full braking control to you . These modes can be selected via the menu on the TFT dashboard or , for a faster and more convenient operation , a long press of the dedicated ABS button turns off the anti-lock system and TCS .
