struggles the Armenian people face . As an Australian with such a short geographical history , we cannot comprehend what these ancient countries and their occupants had to endure for some kind of freedom . Australians take for granted the lifestyle and opportunities that are presented to us , and many still mess it up . It is not just these two countries . The deeper you dig into history the more you learn , something that I have been interested in since taking a British history class back in Year 9 all those years ago .
On this tour I dug deeper into religion . I visited two UNESCO sites . The first was Akhtala Monastery & Fortress , originally Georgian occupied in the 10th century . The difference between Georgian and Armenian monasteries are the fresco lined walls and no seating . Carpets also cover the floors .
