It all seems like a little kumbaya from the joint KTM head however , it indicates that something drastic needs to be done as the flow on effects to the motorcycle industry as a whole could be significant . Between KTM , Husqvarna and GasGas they own a huge share of the motorcycle market especially in the off road and enduro sectors , an area that other manufacturers would need great lead in times to fill should KTM collapse .
It all does seem dire for KTM however , as we have seen many times before , large multinational companies often take a step toward the precipice of survival and often come back and flourish , it ’ s not in anyone ’ s , even competitors , interests to see KTM disappear , and they have enough large backers , including India ’ s Bajaj and China ’ s CFMoto , to see this through .
There ’ s no certainty for KTM yet one thing is for sure , 2025 will be a year of change with the first two months seeing a significant deviation from the current trajectory .
