SUZUKI RECALL

Suzuki Motor Corporation has advised its dealer network to stop all sales and delivery of certain 2023 and 2024 V-Strom 800DE and V-Strom 800DE Adventures .
Suzuki has discovered that affected bikes may have rear tyres that could crack , deform and separate from the carcuss causing sudden deflation and possibly worse . Suzuki has confirmed that this poses a serious safety concern to riders .
Currently investigating the cause , Suzuki is unsure of the extent of the problem and is not clear on how many bikes , worldwide , are affected although between the USA and UK alone there are believed to be aorund 2,000 machines .
The tyres , supplied by Sumitomo , are known to crack and deform under normal road use , and unchecked could see the tread part ways with the carcus . Suzuki has suggested that a sure sign is an increased vibration from the rear of the motorcycle and is taking the issue so serious that it has ordered a complete stop on selling new machines and asked all riders to stop riding until a full recall is undertaken .
Affected bikes are 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE and DE Adventure bikes , also referred to by Suzuki as DL800DE . They were produced between March 15 , 2023 and November 20 , 2023 . Affected VINs range from JS1EM12B1P7100019 to JS1EM12B5P7101707 and also JS1EM12B0R7100001 to JS1EM12B6R7100724 and are not sequential .
