TRAVERSE 176
At well over AU $ 400 who buys a gear bag that can ' t be strapped across the back of a bike ? Well , we do .
The Ogio Rig 9800 is a gear bag that is well worth the money , just ask anyone that has owned one for many years , yes , these bags do last many years of luggage carousels and car boots .
Aside from the durable construction ,
one of the reasons the Ogio Rig 9800 is so good is the size . Coming in at 127 litres of capacity ensures all of your gear will fit , including a dedicate recess for your helmet , but it ' s size is also its downside . Coming in at around 6.5 kilograms means that a lot of airline travel weight has already been sacrificed , and yet the weight is understandable .
The bag has been over-engineered to provide a rigidity and strength where many others fail . Oversized wheels held in cast aluminium casings , that in turn are held within the SLED ( Structural Load Equalising Deck ). The SLED , yes it ' s a thing , and it works well at protecting the bag from the most abusive baggage handler .
The bag itself feels over padded , but we aren ' t complaining as this protects any of your gear that resides inside . The main compartment fits all of our riding gear while the separated bag lid compartments is more than enough for the day to day clothes required for any overseas ride .
Everything about the Ogio Rig 9800 screams quality , the materials , SLED , rollers , slide handle and zips are all industry best equipment . The zips are even protected more by two industrial sized compression straps held with buckles of similar quality .
