TRAVERSE 170
a few western features , we all need a flushing toilet , right ? It too became a running joke at my expense .
As evening settled over the nearby peaks , the colours becoming a vivid pallet of oranges , blues , and greens . I looked around to discover there was much more to Budhi than a magnificent road , stone cottages , and a weed garden . Here was a community that took care of one another , of strangers , and passersby . The people of Budhi seemed to embody what it meant to have Tibetan heritage .
Darkness settled in as the laughter increased , and I smiled as very recent memories of the ' nine ' came flooding back . The roadside monuments , the plentiful landslides , small villages , and cooling waterfalls . India ’ s NH9 , the Kailash Mansarover Road , is one of those roads that everyone should ride yet seems to neglect , I don ’ t know why , possibly because it doesn ’ t really head anywhere , although it does take you to an incredibly special place .
