The homestay and many others like it are a wonderful way to experience a traditional lifestyle , one , that at times , makes the traveller wonder why we live the way we do , especially in the West .
Sonika , the only member of the family that could speak a little English and help me struggle by with a smattering of Hindi and Urdu had a sass that seemed to rub off
on the others . As we made momos in a communal setting the jokes all seemed to be directed at the guy from Australia . It was all in jest and plentiful laughs were shared as I struggled to fold the casing that should contain the stuffing , perhaps I needed some of the stuff that was growing in the vegetable garden .
While this homestay was authentic to a traditional lifestyle it did contain
