Yes , hotels are booked , and your larger bags are carried , however everything else is up to you . All entrants are encouraged to source their own fuel , find their own meals , ask people on the streets for directions and even perform their own maintenance . The point is , you need to embrace your environment and mingle with the people , become a part of where you are .
Everyone has a reason for taking to the steering of a Tuk Tuk and taking on the challenge of racing it across India , for some it ’ s a chance to discover a new place , others have social reasons , some want to use the event to raise awareness or funds for a charity . Some are seasoned travellers and others are well , just seasoned and have never left their home country before , for them driving a Tuk Tuk through a foreign land is a shock of cultures most on their own behalf .
Many struggle with what they thought was a clever idea at the time while other embrace the challenge . The noise , the smells , the congestion drains on some as others step in to immerse within what at times seems to be surreal .
