to US1 , the true direction of our journey . Freeways are the largest fast roads in the USA , also equipped with five lanes in each direction . During our travels on American soil , we learned that there are no lanes dedicated to overtaking or heavy vehicles but that everyone sets their own speed , just like we do with the Africa Twin ' s cruise control and follow a lane . In the end we found ourselves with cars that overtook us in every direction , changing trajectory but not speed , and they challenged each other as if in a video game . Just keep your nerves and let them do their thing and if all goes well you will find yourself travelling constantly above 80 miles per hour ( about 137km / h ).
We passed by the metropolises of Portland and Boston , home to a good part of the most prestigious universities in the country and between petrol stops accentuated with hamburger and coke we arrived in New York during the evening having the privilege of crossing the Robert Kennedy Bridge with the lights of Manhattan starting to shine .
Ours was a return to the metropolis after days of camping and nature and it was also the desire to cross its streets again , since our last trip , but this time on the back of our motorbike . We started from the north entrance of Central Park and walked up Wall Street crossing all the most iconic places of the city . They were far away from the minus twenty degrees Celsius of our winter trip , and it was nice to see the greenery that dominated the small parks set between the immense skyscrapers : the Rockefeller , the Flatiron , and the Empire to name the best known .
