my hand . Alarm bells rang , warnings of not taking a drink from something I hadn ’ t seen made rattled through my head , but this felt right , my two new friends were too well inebriated to pose a threat . We sang , we laughed , we drank G & T as José continued to do his best to destroy a Mexican masterpiece . We ’ d been welcomed with open arms and were now a small part of the story of this historic town .
It didn ’ t surprise as this was Colombia , a country that welcomes in so many ways , encouraging the traveller to be a part of not only the experience but also the day to day where back street life is as vibrant and colourful as anything across this wonderful continent , where laneways suck the passerby in for an experience with the local people that will remain etched in ones subconscious for an eternity “ the minute you let her under your skin ” … “ na na na nananana ” … LW
