When I arrived at the hostel , no one was there . A sign indicated where to pick up the dorm key . In the kitchen , I saw a lot of free food and inside the fridge there was everything . Unbelievable ! Then , I grabbed the necessary things off the bike and covered it . I took off my wet clothes and dried them next to the heating system . In that period , which I guess was about half an hour , I began to smell the aroma of baked chicken . It had been two days since I had eaten hot food , only salami and cheese sandwiches . When I finished showering , I went down to the kitchen ; there I found a strange , hyperactive character , who greeted me in Irish ; skinny , with gap teeth , a scar over his left eyelid , white skin full of freckles , and nervous gestures .
The guy introduced himself as Ronnie and a minute later a woman
with a strange accent came in , who introduced herself as Andrea from Austria . Without another word , three plates were placed on one of the tables and I was invited to share the baked chicken . A few minutes later a young Japanese man who introduced himself as Taka arrived and said he was a sushi chef in a restaurant in Cork ; he asked me if the motorbike outside was mine . Yes , I confirmed .
