A very different story , however , for Jaisalmer which , thanks to its charm capable of attracting thousands of drivers here every year , is experiencing a second youth . After all , it is a spectacle especially when , arriving after 350 kilometres from Bikaner , you begin to see the profile of the city from afar , perhaps at sunset when the sandstone of its buildings , forts , walls , palaces shines under the golden rays of the sun making it known worldwide as Sonar Quila , or “ City of Gold ”.
