TRAVERSE 46
Suspension out of Taupo , New Zealand , and it made a world of difference compared to the standard KYB units . It all kept the 21 / 18-inch rubber firmly on the ground , providing more than enough traction front and rear .
The electronic rider aids on the T7 can ’ t be described as world leading , ABS is sufficient and actually works well on the loose stuff . It can be turned off , but for the most part wasn ’ t required , the Motoz Tractionator tyres , front and rear , providing enough grip .
The lack of rider aids is perhaps one of the highlights of the T7 . Out in the wilderness , overlanding the world , who needs a multitude of electronic aids that can cause problems , sidelining the rider in who knows where ? What it does have is simple to use and easy to navigate , at least on the preupdated version .
It ’ s the lack of glitz that sees the T7 standout , even down to it ’ s looks . It ’ s not the prettiest bike , certainly not the ugliest , yet its looks are purposeful and rally like , it ’ s more suited to those that prefer an adventure bike that looks more dual sport . The T7 doesn ’ t have the bulk of it contemporaries , easily an asset when navigating tight traffic or single trails .
The narrowness also means it is light of weight , although what it does carry feels a little top heavy especially at lower speeds , an occasional topple could occur , it ’ s not a deal breaker .
