TRAVERSE 169
one needs to pause life and look around , the world is beautiful , and when you believe , everything falls in its place .”
Jaton explained that he had many challenges along the way which had to be overcome . The ride each day ranged from 300-500 kilometres with the longest day reaching being 640 kilometres . With distances between fuel stations far and wide Jatin ran out of fuel several times . Jatin rode through extremely isolated patches of the country where there wouldn ’ t be a single soul to be seen for kilometres at end . He even stayed at roadhouses in towns with a population of 8 people .
Jatin ’ s ride supported Sadhguru ’ s Save Soil Campaign . He carried stickers and printed information about the campaign and spread the word to regional areas . Since he was supporting this campaign , he also pledged to be a vegetarian on the trip .
“ Being vegetarian was a challenge of its own kind in a western country ,” he laughed about the remote areas of outback Australia .
In order to create awareness and also share his experiences , Jatin regularly posted on his Social Media handles under the name @ GrandExped .
On completion of “ Grand Exped – The Grand Australian Ride ”, Jatin returned to his starting point – the local Shiva Vishnu Temple in Melbourne on Day 50 where he was received with a magnificent welcome by his family and friends , all proud of his achievement and said to make India and her people proud .
