developed a puncture . Ali quickly lifted the bike onto a rock , whipped off the wheel and replaced the whole wheel with a spare one from the support truck .
After another ascent we reached the top of a smaller mountain , before quickly descending into the next valley . We soon arrived at a turn off and followed a small dirt road into the town of Nkob . This stunningly beautiful town has the most Kasbah ' s , forty-four , in the whole of Morocco .
We were warmly welcomed at our hotel , the Ait Omar Kasbah , where Julie and I were shown our fabulous room with a separate Berber style seating area and a shower beautifully constructed inside a domed cubicle built out of the same materials as the walls , a lacquered and polished plaster called Tadelakt . It was another fabulous accommodation , with a terrific Berber evening meal , and a cozy welcoming bed to retreat to . Tomorrow was going to be a long day in the saddle , 150 kilometres , most of which would be off road .
We celebrated Julie ’ s birthday with another hearty breakfast before setting off at around 9am . We wound through the oasis finding the trail after a couple of kilometres . You could hardly see the mountains due to the suspended sand from the previous day ’ s high winds but as we climbed up and out of the valley the air began to clear revealing the stunning mountains on either side of us .
The views were a danger , on a couple of occasions I took my eyes off
