We ascended two mountain passes and the views were incredible , multiple shades of brown and monumental stone stacks and outcrops . We could have been in the landscape of a science fiction or an old John Ford movie .
Eventually we reached tarmac which was quite nice after all the concentration and bouncing about on the Dockers and although not really trail bikes they do the job despite numb bums . Poor Julie , on the back with her legs unnaturally high as the Docker footrests are not actually pegs , they are flat plates more suitable for carrying grandma and shopping bags .
After another forty kilometres on super smooth tarmac , we arrived at our beautiful hotel , The Sawadi Eco Lodge in Skoura . The hotel has several separate old-style apartments set in a palmerie surrounded by fruit trees , Jasmine , and oleander bushes and of course hundreds of palms . We were welcomed by the staff and given the obligatory sweet mint tea with trays of nuts .
We ate a late lunch , a Moroccan omelet with greens grown in the gardens . Best omelets we had ever tasted . Our room at the hotel was amazing cool and cozy , earth toned Moroccan décor away from the main building and surrounded by fruit trees . Absolute luxury . Later , we had a beautiful evening meal , four courses including a massive Tagine for us all to share .
So far so good . We had managed to ride two-up on trails that could
