TRAVERSE 202
Wrestling with a Sumo , a larger athlete , one whom has the nimbleness of a Ninja , it ’ s an exhausting task , one that frightens to the point of inducing very real levels of anxiety , will I make that corner then “ shit , I ’ m going to roll ”. And yet when it all settles down it ’ s as liberating as anything else on the open road .
The Can Am Spyder popped its rather unusual head up around fifteen years ago . A trike in a strange configuration , two steering wheels at the front and a belt driven single wheel at the rear . A conglomeration of cruiser motorcycle , convertible automobile , and one of those strange three wheeled cars of 1930s Britain . And yet it comes together in a format that works and does so extremely well .
Forget the comparisons between traditional twowheeled motorcycles and the Spyder , whilst similar , they are very different , the comparisons end with the seating position and open to the elements style of transportation . Step aboard a Can Am and you are in for a ride that challenges what you know about riding a bike .
Plonking your bum down on the plush seat the first
