Each night is spent at a family run ger camp where the immersive experience is highlighted with traditional meals and cultural experiences . Although the majority of the Mongolia population is Buddhist meat is still king , in fact it ’ s hard to find a meal that doesn ’ t have some level of animal protein , and out on the steppe it ’ s more so . However , don ’ t be put off , the meat is delicious and well prepared , often so fresh that it come straight from the field . It ’ s also a chance to try ääryg , a fermented dairy product , often mares milk , offering a mild alcohol . Should you choose not to experience the traditional drink then vodka is also high on the drinks list as is beer . It ’ s a chance to sit with the Motorcycle Expeditions crew and recount their experiences on the steppe and the changing city .
Mongolia is the land of the eternal blue sky and despite the beliefs , the people are quick and proud to point out that the land of the steppe can , and often does , have four seasons in one day It ’ s not uncommon for a warm sunny day to quickly turn as a cold , rainstorm passes through . The eternal blue quickly becomes a dramatic skyscape of menacing clouds that highlight the rocky outcrops and expense of green .
Mongolia is a country like few others , offering the rider a chance to be free of constrictions and a way of slipping into a culture steeped in history and tradition . It ’ s a county of majesty , of beautiful natural pastures , of mountain forests , and desert dunes .
