ANTI-POACHING MOVES TO THE AMAZON
CAKE , the Swedish leader of premium , lightweight , electric , off-road motorcycles , has announced a partnership with Treesistance to spread the Electric Bush Bike Anti-Poaching Initiative to the Amazon rainforest , with the focus not only on animals , but also illegal deforestation .
This partnership marks a new phase of the renowned anti-poaching project which began with the protection of endangered species from poaching in Africa . The 100 % solar powered , quiet and fast heavy-duty motorcycles engineered for wildlife conservation now expands to include the protection of trees and nature of the Amazon rainforest .
The devastation caused by illegal deforestation in the Amazon rainforest is one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time , and the Electric Bush Bike Anti-Poaching Initiative aims to combat it headon . By utilising specially developed electric off-road motorcycles , the initiative will enable quiet patrolling of the vast and remote areas of the Amazon rainforest , where the use of heavy traditional combustion engines become ineffective due to the sound generated by their engines .
“ These motorcycles will become very useful for our surveillance team , which does the territorial monitoring process in defense of the forest ," said Dadá Boraní , Chief of the Maró Indigenous Territory and Head of the Forest Guardians Program for Treesistence . " In addition , by using the electric motorcycles , we contribute to climate change having less of an impact on the world . The Amazon is home to an estimated 10 % of known species on Earth , with a new species discovered every other day on average . Additionally , it ' s estimated that there could be nearly 400 billion trees standing in the
