TRAVERSE :
Cambodia , Thank You
Recently returned from Cambodia I found it a country that epitomises what travel should be , especially by motorcycle . Cambodia is a country that shocks and yet at the same time reaffirms ones faith in humanity .
Visiting a number of sites , I was shocked to tears , a recent history of brutality had me questioning ‘ how could humanity be so cruel ?’ And yet a few weeks later absolute disaster demonstrated that a good community will always shine through . That ’ s Cambodia , that ’ s the people , always shining through ; open , hospitable , the Cambodians are perhaps the friendliest people on the planet .
It ’ s a country that deserves your attention , grab yourself a little Honda Dream or a seemingly larger XR250 and explore this wonderous place . Venture into areas away from the tourist entrapments and find a people as keen as you to discover new adventures . Hire yourself a Tuk-Tuk and driver for a day or two , $ 20 a day is a bargain when you get invited to the family farm and suburban household for
a beer , such is the hospitality of the Cambodian people .
Jonh Son , thank you for the laughs , the too many beers , the insight into the life of a Khmer family . Thank you . My friend you ’ ve sold Cambodia to me .
In this issue we have a number of features regarding Cambodia , a country that doesn ’ t disappoint . Read on …
