After forty-four hours of racing the gap between the two KTM riders was just 43 seconds , and despite the gut wrenching result Price remained positive , suggesting he is happy with being able to finish the world ’ s toughest race . “ I ’ m ready for another one next year .” The result for Benavides gives him his second title , one for Honda , one for KTM . The Argentine becoming just the sixth rider to hold more than one title , and also taking KTM back to the top after three years chasing Honda and GASGAS .
“ I just focused on every kilometre from the first to the last ,” the Dakar winner admitted . “ I didn ’ t think about the position or the result , I just gave my 100 percent over the whole stage and tried to enjoy the day .”
Benavides said this years event was one of the toughest races he ’ s ever competed in , there wasn ’ t one day where riders could ease off .
