particular bike displayed a fault , ABS was either on or off , the unpredictability of it was disconcerting . The bike was less than 30,000 kilometres old and already a significant fault .
The annoying thing with the Tiger is that regardless of the mode when you key off it will revert to road mode when you restart .
The great thing with the Rally Pro , and I guess all of the Tiger range , are the brakes . Bloody hell , these things are good , Brembo Stylma monoblocks stopping with confidence , just don ’ t grab a handful , not my usual riding style so I didn ’ t feel too much need to rely heavily on the rear brake .
Is the 900 Tiger an improvement over the 800 ? For the most part yes despite that buzz above 5000RPM . But is it a good overland bike which , essentially isn ’ t that what these adventure bikes were originally conceived to be ? It ’ s at times thirsty , uncomfortable ( the seat is by far one of the worst I ’ ve ridden on ), and doesn ’ t know whether it ’ s a road , dirt , or touring bike .
Starting at over $ 25,000 Australian for the Rally Pro would I have one ? Yes , of course . It has two wheels , so I wouldn ’ t say ‘ no ’. Would I buy one ? I ’ d look at other
options first . LW
