Since 2010 , Red Bull Alpenbrevet has been a motorsport event unlike any other . A collection of the colourful , the noisy , the fun , a festival that brings together the unlikeliest of motorsport competitors and machines where the name of the game isn ’ t outright speed but rather an average time .
Alpenbrevet , or the Alpine Certificate , is held in July amongst the Swiss Alps within the smallest canton of Glarus . Located firmly at the foot of the Glärnisch ridge riders were treated to some spectacular riding with landscapes that many dream of being a part of .
Returning to a traditional running , after the forced closures due to Covid , more than 1,000 mopeds and their riders gathered in perfect weather to take on the mountains , a sight akin to the march of ants and a sound similar to that of a swarm of wasps … yes , that is the appropriate collective noun .
