and refuelled . Then with Mike ’ s jacket flapping away and my sore body wedged tightly to the saddle , we opened-up . Next challenge was speed . At 160kmph no difference . A solid bike , glued to the track .
So , what are my final and honest thoughts about the Pan Am . There are some flaws . The pillion seat is small and after a day would become tiring . The computer struggled to keep up with our fast changes in terrain . The disturbance of having everyone you meet stop you to ask questions and admire the bike is a pain , but this won ’ t last as riders learn about it and the bike is thirsty . Very thirsty ! But , let ’ s be honest , I don ’ t think that any person buying this T-Rex of a bike will mind . On occasion the bike reminded me of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S , but that was only a little . Most of the time , the bike confused us . It ’ s certainly an adventure bike and has many positives . How grounded it is . How comfortable a ride . The beautiful sound . Is it a game changer ? I am still not sure . Did I like it ? I loved it . Give it a few models and years under the belt and it will , without any doubt shake the industry . If you think it ’ s not that massive of an innovation , just take one for a ride and you will have your mind bent . You will also feel confused . But confused in a really good way . Would I buy one if in the market . I don ’ t know . When I think of the sound , yes . When I think of my sore ass as I sit writing this , hell no . I think the big man and I have earned a more comfortable ride for our next one . Maybe the 1800 Harley Davidson Ultra will be a good one to play with . Watch this space … CV
