And then , there are the roads ; running through never-ending landscapes or winding through mountains , at times full of potholes and other times with a perfect tarmac that allows the rider to enjoy some speed . When the tarmac roads turned into gravel and dirt trails , getting deeper in the more remote areas of the savannah , the trip became even more adventurous , we started to feel like real explorers , completely lost in this wild and fascinating corner of Africa .

After admiring the beauty of the Victoria Falls , one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World , we climbed onto the saddles of our “ Big Five ” Honda Transalps to head to the Kafue National Park , Africa ’ s second largest park . Along the way , approximately 800 kilometres , we started to discover this genuine African country . We rode across farms and traditional villages where people live a poor but respectable life , still following their ancient traditions . Zambia is a nation where many people live with a couple of dollars per day , but poverty almost never turns into misery . We were always welcomed and every time we stopped , we became an attraction ; there are very few foreigners coming this way , and even fewer riding on a motorcycle .
We rode through Lusaka , the modern capital city , and head towards Mumbwa , the last largesized town before entering the road heading to the Kafue National Park forest . IT wasn ’ t long before we left the tarmac behind and started
