Six Nuttas stated their intention to attend , based on the very rough outline , no dates or definitive routes had been established . A trip organiser was elected ; the one that came up with the idea , and the planning started in earnest .
Locking down a suitable date was the first significant challenge ; work and domestic responsibilities caused a seemingly endless mismatch of dates , until early November was decided on and locked in .
Whilst dates and times were being decided , overnight stops were researched and put forward for consideration . Arriving at the property on Tuesday afternoon provided the prospect of three perfect days of riding and training , or so the plan was . As part of the tour leader role meals and accommodation options were researched and given ‘ the property ’ was going to be home for a few days , preparations were required to ensure adequate fuel , food and
water were available .
As the kick-off date drew closer , conversations turned to bike prep ; which tyres should I have ? What gear do I need ? Where can I get fuel ? Just how gnarly are these tracks we ’ re taking ?
