Waterproof with an IPX5 certification the Givi GRT715 tank bag promises plenty . Said to have a volume of 20 litres this bag is huge yet once on the bike it doesn ’ t look too oversized and provides ample space .
The Givi GRT715 is more or less in line with other tank bags of this design , constructed with 840D double TPU coated
nylon , offering a level of durability that is both strong and waterproof , tested with a pressure washer . This is enhanced with the additional top flap that incorporates a transparent screen for maps or devices . It ’ s larger than most and works well .
The Givi GRT715 also includes side pockets , said to be water resistant , don ’ t be fooled ; the material might be water resistant however , the vent holes in the sides mean water does get in . The pockets would be seldom used being too slim to fit anything of substance , perhaps a ticket , license , or documents … oh , the water issue .
Fitting the Givi GRT715 to the bike is easy enough , straps attach the base while quick release clips fix the tank bag to the base . It can be adjusted to suit most bike styles and designs , and easily taken off to be used as a shoulder bag with the included padded strap . Perfect for carry camera gear around .
Although listed as being 20 litres in volume we doubt this claim . Filling the Givi GRT715 with water we were able to get just over 15 litres in , still a large capacity that easily carry a full size pro DLSR camera and two large lenses , spare batteries , speedlight and more .
