was to cross the border to Ukraine , to get to Sebastopol and sail on the Black Sea to Batumi , Georgia . But while I was on the table looking at the maps , grandma asked me , “ How is it possible for you to travel again to Ukraine where you have already been and not to the north of Poland and especially to the village where I was born , nor to visit the cathedral where I got married ?”
I was left with my mouth open and then I asked her , “ And where is this town ?”
“ To the northwest ,” she answered me . “ You have to visit the cathedral where I got married and sit in one of its pews for a few moments and wish me good health .”
Moisture was welling in her eyes . The city she was referring to was Torun .
I decided to listen to her and change the plan because this new tour would give me the opportunity to stop by Berlin to visit my daughter Ciara .
Days later I set off for Torun ( 486 kms ), a beautiful city with its ochrecoloured cathedral . After my arrival , I sat in the evening at a table to drink a beer in a square from where I could see the famous cathedral . The next morning , I went to visit it as the old lady had asked me . I sat on a bench in complete silence . I prayed for her health , and something happened to me that I am still trying to understand , and which kept me in emotional shock for a few days . I met God , again . In that state of mind , I headed towards Frombork ( 210 kms ) a few kilometers from the Russian border , situated in front of Lake Vistula and visited the fabulous red brick castle , the Basilica of the Assumption , and the house of Nicolaus Copernicus .
Then , I took the E28 towards Elbrag and from there along the Gulf of Gdansk , towards the city of the same name ( 95 kms ) where I spent three days in coincidence with
