the snow or dive into the icy water of the lake . Time passed and spring came . My motorcycle , La Más , spent the Finnish winter in the heated garage of a friend ' s house in Seinäjoki . At the first light of spring , mid-April , I went to pick up my motorcycle at the village where Esko lives , and after giving him a bottle of excellent Scotch single malt for his wonderful gesture of taking care of La Más , I started my journey again . It was strange to get back on the bike after six months . I guess many of you know that feeling of not being " fit ", of taking all precautions and sometimes doubting whether you can still do it .
I cautiously rode the 290 kilometres to the Lautta Ravintola Saari ferry terminal that would take me to Tallinn , Latvia a beautiful city where I spent days walking around the city , visiting the Naval museum and the POHJALA craft brewery located in recycled industrial buildings facing the sea , which in the past housed Soviet submarines . I stayed in a hostel on Viru Väljak street and walked around the beautiful old town where I visited the Saint Nicholas Church and the Monet2Klimt museum . I was struck by the silence of this city . The people were friendly , but I noticed a hint of melancholy in them .
Then I hit the road to Riga ( Estonia ) where I spent two days walking around the city , taking pictures and enjoying the huge market where I ate Janu cheese , rye bread , a couple of Asinsdesas ( blood sausage ), a bowl of Auskta Zupa ( cold beetroot soup ) all accompanied with a Mežpils Porteris ( beer ) and then trying the famous Alexandertorte with a shot of the Black Balsam 45 % alcohol .
From there , I hit the road to Vinius ( Lithuania ) where I didn ’ t stop due to heavy rain and continued toward Zamock ( Poland ). I was half an hour away from my destination ,
