another small log on the fire . Lost ! I laughed .
The following morning dawned grey ; it had rained slightly overnight , enough to keep the dust down , not enough to wet the land .
As we packed up camp I noticed that the female of the young couple was dressed as if to go to work in an office or perhaps job interview . I wondered whether they were homeless but felt no compulsion to pry on their sensitivities .
A giant centipede trudged across what was left of our camp in a statement of belonging . It was time for us to move on .
We rode to the west of Bendigo , sticking to small roads and forest tracks , passing through Raywood and Dingee before continuing in a north westerly direction . The riding was enjoyable , nothing challenging just seldom used roads that we had never been near before . It was interesting and now I was beginning to see the joy of being ‘ lost ’ somewhere where we couldn ’ t possibly be lost .
