added to the leaderboard and rankings . Álamo says that while this is a competition , it ’ s more about community and encouraging motorcycle riders to use their means of transport and travel to visit these unique sites . But why the Osborne Bulls ?
The Osborne Bull has become a symbol of Spain , and its roadside landscape .
Initially designed in the 1950s by Manolo Prieto ( 1912- 1991 ), the first Osborne Bull was installed in Cabanillas de la Sierra with a further 500 spreading across the country by the end of the decade .
The roadside advertising went into decline in the 1980s when Spanish law prohibited advertising within a certain distance of the roads verge , to overcome these restrictions Osborne created larger versions that could be moved from the roadside yet still give the viewer the same perspective .
In 1997 the Spanish Supreme Court ruled the Bulls were of cultural significance ( aesthetic or cultural interest ) and therefore could not be removed , and with it Toro en Moto was born .
More information regarding Toro en Moto can be found at toroenmoto . com where you can join , participate and become a part of a great motorcycle and travelling community . TRAVERSE
