TRAVERSE :
The Door Is Always Open
T he last twenty months have certainly been challenging , yet recently it has been encouraging to see many parts of the world moving towards something that resembles pre-Covid normality .
Europe and North America have seen vaccination take up rates that have allowed a shift in thinking , lockdowns have eased , travel is returning , human connection is on the rise . It ’ s encouraging and brings a sense of optimism that the remainder of the world will see positivity return , especially for those regions that the developed world seems to forget about .
We are seeing motorcycling events that encourage adventure also return , Red Bull Romaniacs and the Silk Way Rally have both recently taken place , both covered in this issue of Traverse . Spectators are being allowed to return to events like MotoGP , motocross and trials . It does bode well for a coming 2022 with a calendar full of events .
Here in Australia change has been gradual , and we at Traverse
have had our own small shift . While not being able to be on the road as much as we ’ d like we took the opportunity to move the HQ , to a much more user-friendly premises although , sadly , there ’ s no longer a pub right next door .
We ’ ve moved across one suburb , still within a stones throw of the Melbourne CBD and still in the inner west . The door is always open , the smell of coffee always welcoming , with plenty of beer or wine in the fridge . So , if you ’ re in Melbourne , either travelling by or calling it home , drop in have a chat , we love to hear of everyone ’ s adventures … and if you are travelling , near or far , we have a workshop that is available to anyone who might need it .
