Visiting Pastranaland , the creation of who else but Travis Pastrana , it ’ s evident that this complex is massive , almost beyond comprehension . Based in Anapolis , Maryland ( USA ) this daredevil with a varied and complex career took us around his home and gave us a look at what inspires many of his outlandish stunts and just what it takes to be regarded as one of the best .
The thirty-seven-year-old modelled his Pastranaland on similar concepts by racers from his childhood .
“ Guy Cooper had Cooperland with a go kart when I was growing up and I guess I never grew up ,” he laughed .
Pastrana describes his ‘ land ’ as not actually being too much land , just a place that is forever evolving and adapting to the needs of his stunts . He laughs as he describes it as a place where there is a “ bunch of rednecks in the backyard ”.

Pastrana to the career he ’ s had , “ we ’ d get a shovel and dig out jumps or drive go karts around the shop .”
“ Motocross is where I wanted to go but my dad and uncles drive motor cars ,” he continued adding that even drag racing was encouraged . “ We always had things like bobcats to go charging around on , that was me from three years old . “ I just wanted to try everything .” Pastrana has made a handsome career and living from doing what he does but is quick to acknowledge that it was never about the money , that passion and challenge are the key drivers in his career .
“ My dad told me that turning a hobby into a career wasn ’ t the way to make a lot of money ,” he shrugged . “ He said that everyday you do something you ’ d better make sure you love it .
