to be overwhelmed by the lavender fields . Their colours and perfumes are poetic and it ’ s hard to resist their charm . The lavender plantations are the soul not only of the territory , but also a French world-leading industry .
Following the fields and the dirt roads , we reach Moustiers-Sainte- Marie , one of the most charming villages of the region . The place is located on the mountainside and presents an ancient sanctuary that has always been a goal for pilgrims . From here on we abandon the heavy luggage , so we can move swiftly with our agile Moto Morini “ Milano ”, our reliable companion for this journey , and get near the Verdon Gorges . It ’ s the greatest canyon of all Europe , overlooked by 700-metre heigh walls .
This landscape origins from thousands of years of erosion that penetrates the mountains for over 25 kilometres . We can enjoy the view , riding on the roads coasting it until we arrive in Castellano , and once you are there you can go back to the opposite bank . It ’ s the perfect road for motorcyclists , where the pleasure of the ride and the ecstasy of the landscape find the perfect harmony .
After Castellane we are directed to Grasse , the world capital of perfume , as they state at the doors
